Calf Care

As we can now see the daylight on the other side of winter, we should be evaluating and making sure our calves have the capabilities to reach their full potential despite the conditions, making sure they received the proper amount of a high quality colostrum in a timely manner, have dry bedding deep enough to nestle into, and access to a high quality starter and water will get you pointing it the right direction, also getting some calf weights from birth-weaning is a good way to benchmark yourself against the industry standards, contact us to help you with this. Don’t forget to come in and enter the drawing to win a calf care bucket; the bucket will include LOL colostrum, whisk, thermometer, LOL individual electrolyte packets, and a new bottle. Don’t forget about our Purina Cow/Calf meeting in Pierz on February 10th at 6:30pm; our focus will be how to increase profitability in the cow calf herd along with kicking off our spring mineral booking on our summer mineral needs. 2019 was a tough year for everyone and we need to do what is in our control to make 2020 more profitable.
